On Wednesday, a helicopter crash during a training exercise at Fort Campbell, a Kentucky Army base, sadly resulted in one soldier’s death and another’s injury. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. during drills. Details are still unclear, but one soldier was killed, and another was rescued from the wreckage, per the New York Post.
Emergency responders promptly went to the scene and transported the survivor to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. According to the Army, the survivor is now in stable condition.
The names of the soldiers involved are being kept private until their family members have been informed.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn wrote on X, “I am devastated by the loss of a Fort Campbell soldier last night who tragically passed during an aviation training exercise… Lifting up this service member’s family in prayer today and will continue to monitor this situation.”
