13-Year-Old Girl Dies After Falling Approximately 25 Feet Through Attic Floor During After-School Program

A 13-year-old girl, Joeylin Kenley McDonald, died on Friday evening at the Rocky Mountain SER after-school Head Start program in Pueblo, Colorado. Police responded to a call around 7 p.m., where they found Joeylin after she reportedly fell approximately 25 feet through an attic floor.

According to KRDO, authorities have not yet determined what led to her fall. She had been with a group of children at the time, and while the incident remains under investigation, officials have not confirmed if foul play is involved.

Joeylin’s family and community are mourning her sudden loss. Her aunt, Caitlyn Valdez, described her as “smart, headstrong, beautiful, sassy, sweet, caring, and a hard worker.” Valdez added that the pain of her passing will be lifelong.

The after-school program also released a heartfelt statement. The program referred to her passing as a tragic loss” and remembered her as a “bright and beloved light” in the community. They requested prayers and support for her family and friends during this difficult time.

Joeylin McDonald is survived by her parents, five siblings, and extended family. The Police continue to investigate the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
