A 17-year-old boy has died after shooting his 16-year-old girlfriend, injuring her, and then turning the gun on himself, according to Palm Bay Police Chief Mariano Augello, per Fox News.
The shooting occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, in the parking lot of an auto shop on Malabar Road. Chief Augello described it as an attempted murder-suicide. The girl was transported to the hospital but is in stable condition. Tragically the boy has died from his self-inflicted gunshot.
Augello mentioned that the two teens were in a relationship and had agreed to meet. It is unclear the reason they chose that time and location, officials stated. Another 16-year-old girl who had witnessed the shooting had made the 911 call, according to Fox 13 Tamp Bay.
