17-year-old Leticia Rodriguez would have gotten away with the worst crime her neighborhood had ever witnessed. At least that’s how a neighbor described her action. The young mom attempted to bury her child behind her home.

People reported that the Marietta Police Department was called in by a witness, regarding a death. At around noon on November 25, they reached the home only to discover more shocking truths.

Right behind Leticia Rodriguez’s home, the 17-year-old dug a hole that she thought was a suitable grave site. Unfortunately for her, a relative realized what was going on and immediately phoned the police.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the suspect’s baby was set to be buried six hours after its birth. Investigation is yet to prove when and how the child died. But sources confirmed that the police saw a dead child wrapped in a blanket. Leticia Rodriguez had tried to conceal the infant in a grocery bag before being discovered by a relative.

Officer Chuck McPhilamy alleged that the child was never buried, however they caught the mother ready to act. Once the police detained her, she was sent to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Once she is certified to be fit. Rodriguez would be moved to Cobb County Adult Detention Center, Marietta.

Meanwhile, the body of the infant has been transported for examination. The authorities are hands-on with investigations as they hope to determine the cause of death. But for now, Leticia Rodriguez faces a series of charges. This includes felony charges of concealing a death, abuse of a dead body, and abandonment of a dead body.
