An 18-year-old mom, Alicia Brea, from Hollywood, Florida, was apprehended for allegedly sending a disturbing photo to win back her former boyfriend. The photo showed her appearing to stomp on her 10-month-old baby’s head. She was charged with child cruelty without causing serious harm. The incident was reported by a friend who received the image, per the New York Post

Per Law & Crime, officials said in the affidavit of probable cause,

“(Brea) stated she was upset with her baby’s father and sent him a picture of her stepping (with her right foot) on the baby’s head to see if the baby’s father would come back to her.”

The affidavit added,

“(Brea) stated she and the baby’s father had broken up earlier today and (she) was very upset.”

When officials got to the scene,

“the baby was wearing the same outfit [in the photo] when officers made contact,”

the affidavit continued.

Brea was requested to sign a consent form for investigators to access her phone. They discovered the photo of her stepping on her child’s face. Brea claimed she sent other pictures to prove she wouldn’t harm the baby. Luckily, officials observed no visible injuries on the baby.

Child Protective Services was alerted while Brea was taken into custody and moved to Broward County Jail. After posting a $20,000 bond, she was released with conditions such as wearing a GPS monitor, no contact with the child, and a mental health evaluation within 10 days.
