Dilaver Berk will forever remember when a 19-year-old attacked him in an attempt to steal his car. Despite being out of the hospital, the victim explains how it all went down, revealing the depths of the tragedy.

A Texas Lyft driver tells Fox 4 reporters how he was attacked on Monday by a young adult. Frisco Police who now have the attacker in custody revealed that 25-year-old Dilaver Berk almost lost his life during the attack after picking up Antwain Williams.

According to the driver, he completed the ride by delivering the customer to his residence at 3700 Legacy Drive. But as soon as he arrived at the destination, the suspect attacked him. Williams gagged the driver with a cable or wire while attempting to slit his throat with a knife.

Berk’s friend, Dustin Tovi told Fox 4 that Williams continued using the knife on his throat. Despite the threat to life, he struggled for his life, thereby sustaining injuries on his hands. While fighting it out, the driver told his attacker to leave him alone and take anything.

Following the violence, Williams stole the Toyota Camry that drove him home. However, his freedom did not last long as the police spotted the vehicle near Highway 423 and Rockhill. But when they attempted to arrest him, he fled on foot. Fortunately, the police arrested him eventually. He has since been taken into custody and detained in Denton County Jail.

Meanwhile, Dilaver Berk is bedridden even though he was rushed to the hospital after the attack. But he has since been released. Amid recounting his experience, the victim says he is grateful to be alive.
