A Wisconsin elementary school teacher, Madison Bergmann, aged 24, was apprehended for engaging in inappropriate behavior with a fifth-grade student. The incident was discovered when the student’s mother overheard a conversation between her 11-year-old son and the teacher. She also discovered text messages between them. The boy’s father confronted the teacher at River Crest Elementary School, per the New York Post

The disturbing text messages exchanged by Bergmann allegedly involved discussions about multiple inappropriate meetings that took place

“inside the classroom during lunch or after school.”

She is accused of expressing enjoyment when the child touched her and engaging in

“making out”.

Cops discovered a folder in her bag with the victim’s name on it, which contained numerous handwritten notes detailing their kissing experiences, according to the charges.

The teacher wrote a letter

“One of my cousins is in the 5th grade and I can’t imagine a man talking to her how we talk. I know we have a special relationship and I do love you more than anyone in the world but I have to be the adult here and stop,”

she wrote in the letter.

The duration of the abuse is uncertain, but Bergmann informed investigators that she received the boy’s phone number from his mother back in December. They had invited her, thinking she was a trusted teacher, to join them for winter break at Afton Alps. Reports added that she got engaged to her longtime boyfriend that same month, per her social media. When questioned about the text messages between her and the child, Bergmann chose to exercise her right to an attorney, as stated in the document.

After her arrest, the woman was put on administrative leave and prohibited from communicating with any students, parents, or staff of the school district. Bergmann is charged with first-degree child sexual assault.
