33-Year-Old Charged After Trying To Flush Fetus Down The Toilet At Fast-Food Restaurant

Bexar County Jail

Police say a pregnant woman in Texas, in her third trimester, tried to flush a fetus down a fast-food restaurant toilet. 33-year-old Mallori Patrice Strait entered a San Antonio Whataburger around noon Thursday, staying in the lobby until about 2 p.m., then went to the bathroom, according to the New York Post.

The woman was in the bathroom for two hours, making distressing sounds, as reported by police. The manager checked on her, gave her water, and eventually contacted officials for safety reasons. Bexar County officials arrived to question her, but she was uncooperative.

Authorities found a female fetus in the bathroom toilet. Strait and the baby were transported to a hospital, where the newborn was announced deceased. Strait was around 28 to 30 weeks pregnant, reports News 4 San Antonio. The medical examiner is determining the cause of death. The woman has been charged with

“abuse of a corpse.”
