Sources confirmed that Ann Wick was a seasoned skybird in terms of skydiving—however, her life ended abruptly while doing what she loved best.
Ann Wick, 55, was flying over Taylor Street in Eloy, Arizona on Friday when her parachute was trapped surprisingly. Sadly, the skydiving expert fell to the ground following the malfunction. In no time, the Eloy Police Department, Eloy’s Fire Sevices, and paramedics responded to the emergency call from Sky Dive Arizona— a sky diving company.
Expectedly, the first responders tried medical procedures to revive the victim, but she did not respond. Soon, Wick was pronounced dead. Since the unsavory incident, all hands have been on deck to identify the cause of the accident.
Sky Dive Arizona, a company much aware of Wick’s expertise, explained that she had landed about 265 jumps with no hitch, per Fox News. According to them, everything looked normal this time with the parachute deploying as designed. However, the company noted that witnesses could tell that the canopy refused to turn.
These onlookers revealed that Wick had failed to act during the glitch, and the extra parachute was not released. Meanwhile, law enforcement and the Federal Aviation Administration have announced their interest in the accident. These authorities hope to identify what went wrong through sources and meticulous inspection of the equipment.
Apart from supporting the authorities, Sky Dive Arizona has also extended its condolences to the family of the deceased. In a statement, the skydiving firm expressed its grief while acknowledging that it had lost an important member. Ann Wick died doing what she loved best and may her soul RIP!
