Ahmad Alkhalaf,66, had only wanted to sell his phone to Amaya Medrano,19. But unfortunately, the younger adult ended the life of the seller. Police now have Medrano in custody with a $1million bond set.
Fox 8 reports that Ahmad Alkhalaf, 66, was trying to sell off his iPhone 15 to 19-year-old Amaya Medrano was seemingly a serious buyer after connecting via Facebook Marketplace. Surveillance footage showed that they did meet in an open place. Before the final transaction, the duo had a brief conversation.
However, it all ended bloody as the 19-year-old shot the seller at an Oak Cliff gas station in Dallas. Although the shooter left the vicinity, the police were able to apprehend her. Alkhalaf’s body was positioned next to his pickup truck. The first responders immediately rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. However, Ahmad Alkhalaf succumbed to the injuries sustained from the shooting.
Investigations proved that the shooter was a woman. According to the authorities, her prominent face and neck tattoos gave her away. They were also able to track down the suspect who intended to sell the stolen device. She was immediately apprehended and charged with capital murder. Dallas County Jail proves that the suspect is still behind bars with a $1 million bond.
Reportedly, Ahmad Alkhalaf is not Medrano’s only victim. Back in 2023, the suspect pleaded guilty to stabbing another. Since then, she has been serving a 5-year probation. But if found guilty of this new crime, the 19-year-old would certainly be jailed. For now, nothing about a lawyer or a due date for a court appearance has been mentioned.
