According to the police, a suspect engaged in a racially-motivated fight in Brooklyn and assaulted a 77-year-old man by striking him with a metal scooter. This incident took place earlier this month, officials say, per WPIX.
Officials noted that the suspect assaulted the victim near 25 Melrose St. in Bushwick at approximately 2:15 p.m. on June 3. The victim, a Hispanic man, was hit in the face with the scooter, resulting in a facial cut, bruising, and swelling. Following the incident, he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
It isn’t clear how the verbal disagreement escalated; however, reports note that racial slurs were tossed amid the argument. The suspect fled following the assault.
