90-Year-Old NYC Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Two Cars, Including Yellow Taxi

Frances Rickard, 90, was tragically hit by two cars, which included a yellow taxi, while crossing a street on the Upper EastSide Wednesday evening. The woman was crossing at York Avenue and East 72nd Street when the 68-year-old taxi driver made a U-turn and struck her, per the New York Post

Shortly after the taxi hit Rickard, a 35-year-old woman driving a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer also struck her, per police reports.

The elderly woman, who resides on the Upper West Side, was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries, according to authorities. Both drivers remained at the scene and have not been charged.
