A – Attainable Goals

Achievable goals are goals that you can achieve by your hard work and effort. Ask yourself whether you have the capacity and resources to attain these goals. Your goals must be realistic and achievable without supernatural or external intervention.

R – Relevant Goals

Your goals must also be relevant to your overall objective. Here, you need to ask yourself why you are setting this goal. Are you doing it because of a trend, or do you see this goal (s) contributing to your life and well-being? Setting achievable goals requires that you look at the big picture before committing.

T – Time-bound Goals

Achievable goals must be time-bound. This is where you ask the “when” question. You need milestones and deadlines to motivate yourself to work on your goals. Deadlines give you a sense of urgency, encouraging you to achieve your goals promptly. You will also determine whether you are on track as the days pass.

E – Exciting Goals

Your goals should excite you. You should be eager to work on those goals, knowing they will contribute to your success. If your goals are not exciting, they may not be attainable within the period you have set to achieve them. Achievable goals must be compelling enough to keep you going when you face challenges or obstacles.

R – Risky Goals

Your goals should be risky. Set achievable goals that will challenge and stretch you. This will give you insight and knowledge to help you attain future goals. Setting risky goals will also aid your personal and professional development.
