Adam and Melody Greenwood spent time in police custody after they were found guilty of neglect. The pair who live in Indiana were accused of starving their 10-year-old while encouraging his siblings to beat him up.

Adam and Melody restricted their children from getting formal education, except the two older ones. But this restriction was mixed with intense abuse suffered by only one of their child. The abuse was noticed, and the child was taken to Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital for an examination.

The unnamed child, identified as a 10-year-old, appeared to be “extremely skinny.” Soon, he was diagnosed to have suffered nutritional neglect and child abuse. There were also marks and wounds on his wrist, which revealed that he was being tied up.

As such, the police were alerted for further investigation. The suspected abuse turned out to be true as the siblings of the 10-year-old testified against Adam and Melody Greenwood’s parenting of the boy. All seven siblings claimed that their brother was alienated and fed canned foods.

Meanwhile, every other child was privileged to eat normally, including the consumption of fast foods. Apart from the poor diet, the child didn’t enjoy a normal childhood as he didn’t watch TV. He was often forced to stand close to a wall while his eyes were covered with a towel.

According to the victim, his mother sometimes bound him with zip ties, which were left for days. Although they haven’t been booked on former charges, they were hit with preliminary charges.

Adam Greenwood was charged with two counts of neglect of a dependent, while Melody was charged with three counts of neglect of a dependent. The duo was later released after paying $10,000 and $15,000, respectively.
