Jacob Henriques, a 29-year-old former Assistant Admissions Director at Emmanuel College in Boston, faces charges of attempted sex trafficking of a minor.
According to a May 2 press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, Henriques allegedly exploited his role. He accessed personal information of admitted and prospective students, contacting them anonymously to solicit sex for money.
On April 25, Henriques reportedly texted a 17-year-old female applicant hours after her campus tour, offering $400 for sexual acts and sending pornographic videos.
He also inquired about her interest in group sex while withholding his identity. After the minor blocked his number, Henriques allegedly persisted via email, accessing her digital profile 47 times between April 25 and 28.
Several other students reportedly received similar messages. Emmanuel College, in a statement to PEOPLE, expressed shock and confirmed Henriques’ immediate termination, emphasizing cooperation with authorities.
The FBI is seeking additional victims. Jacob Henriques faces up to life in prison if convicted, with a court appearance scheduled for May 5 in Boston’s U.S. District Court.
