Stephen and Gloria Whitaker Miller endured a marriage of 30 years, but it was far from perfect. Last week, Stephen, 64, had alerted the police of his missing wife and sought help by calling a local TV station.
The 64-year-old was spotted making calls to find the missing woman, per the NY Post. While the police investigated the case, Gloria’s brother, #SydneyWhitaker, assured the public that it was unlike his sister to disappear like that.
According to him, she stayed home often and only left with the car, which was still available in their home. Sydney also believed that something might have happened because his sister failed to give him a call as she often did.
Soon, the police uncovered that Gloria’s belongings, including her phone and wallet, had been planted by her husband in a store. Following thorough questioning, Stephen confessed to killing his wife. Her body was disposed in a dry creek towered by a bridge.
The police have yet to find out the motive for the crime. However, it has been noted that the couple often disagreed due to Gloria’s alleged violent behavior. On several occasions, the deceased had been reported. Their daughter had also attempted to file a restraining order against her mother.
Stephen Miller once complained about her violent nature and ended up filing a protection order against her. However, it appeared that the orders were dismissed. This was because the duo decided to work on their marriage. He’s now held on a $1.5 million bond in the Houston County Jail.
