An
“anxious”
passenger aboard Alaska Airlines reportedly opened the emergency exit and stepped onto the aircraft’s wing after landing, as reported by the NY Post. The incident took place on Sunday at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, shortly after the flight arrived at the gate.
Around 5 p.m., as passengers were starting to exit the plane that had flown in from Milwaukee, the unnamed woman decided she could no longer wait to get off.
“During deplaning of the aircraft a passenger on board became anxious and opened the emergency exit over the wing. The woman climbed out onto the wing,”
a spokesperson for the Port of Seattle told KIRO 7.
Firefighters responded and brought the woman down from the wing. Subsequently, a police crisis team assessed the situation and decided she should be taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, according to a spokesperson for the station. Alaska Airlines confirmed that the situation with a
“disruptive guest”
was handled safely.
