Allison Holler Justifies Public Revelation of Husband’s Secrets
A few days after her interview with People, Allison Holker decided to shed light on why she chose to disclose certain things about her late husband. She posted an explanation on her Instagram Stories, clarifying that she never meant to ruin tWitch’s legacy with her interview or upcoming memoir.
“To fans of Stephen and our family and friends, I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people,” Holker began.
“Just like you, I never really knew what happened, and even as I am trying to put the pieces together I will never really know.”
The dancer noted that people might change their perspective after reading her book and revealed that she only intended to portray the good life she shared with tWitch.
“If you decide to read the book, hopefully you’ll see my intention is to celebrate the love and life I shared with Stephen and our three beautiful children, and also the more complex aspects of both of our lives.”
Allison Holker Wants to Help Those Struggling With Mental Health
Allison Holker confessed that she hoped that sharing her full story with her late husband could “help someone else who might see themselves or a loved one in Stephen. She added:
“In sharing I hope that maybe they can catch some the red flags that I missed before it’s too late.”
She also revealed that since her husband died, she had spoken with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and other organizations to learn more about “mental health issues so that I can share warning signs with others.”
Additionally, she shared that she will donate the proceeds from her book to a mental health-based foundation she created in honor of tWitch called Move with Kindness. Allison Holker stated that she believed her late husband would have chosen “to have his story told if it meant saving even one life.” She also said she hoped no one would have to lose a “husband, brother, father, or friend, to suicide anymore” and concluded her note by thanking those who supported her and the children “these many years.”
Allison Holker’s Explosive Interview and Book
The public criticism from every angle against Allison Holker began after People published her interview on January 7, 2024. The mom of three revealed during the interview that she discovered her late husband’s drug addiction after his death. She said she found a “cornucopia” of drugs hidden in his shoes in their closet just before his funeral. She also discovered an older male sexually abused him as a kid, an event he never disclosed during their nine years of marriage.
Holker disclosed that her new memoir, ThisFar: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light, will be released on February 4. The book will reveal information about his sexual abuse and the things she found in tWitch’s journals, which helped her understand his mental state leading to his death. Meanwhile, family, friends, co-workers, and fans of the late tWitch have piled on Holker since her interview for revealing her late husband’s struggles and reportedly tarnishing his legacy.
Allison Holker continues to stay strong in the face of criticism. Meanwhile, a few people have supported her, claiming her late husband took the easy way out when he committed suicide. Regardless of everyone’s opinions, the kids remain the greatest concern. Hopefully, they are all fine and can get through this situation with mental health issues.
