A troubling surveillance video shows the moment an Amazon delivery van driver struck a woman in Baltimore and then fled the scene after briefly checking on her. The 29-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street in the Butchers Hill neighborhood around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, as reported by WBAL-TV

The footage shows a blue Amazon van slowly hitting her while she was in the crosswalk at E. Pratt St. and S. Chester St., then rolling over her with its back wheels before coming to a stop.

The driver steps out of the van to check on the woman, who is on the ground crying out for help and moving slightly. After a few moments, he gets back into the van and drives away.

By this time, another vehicle had pulled over, seemingly to assist the woman. Emergency personnel and police arrived shortly thereafter, according to Fox Baltimore. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital, as reported by CBS News.

“We were made aware of this terrible incident today,” an Amazon spokesperson told CBS. “The driver in question has been suspended from delivering on our behalf and we’re working with his employer and law enforcement as they investigate.”
