Caitlin Carol Adams was arrested on January 24 and immediately booked into Craighead County Detention Center. However, after paying the $25,000 bond, she was released and is set to appear for arraignment on March 20.

Per KAIT, the nurse was slapped with charges including three counts of fraud or deceit to procure a narcotic drug-forged prescription in connection with multiple drugs. She made these purchases last month after getting fired from a care home.

Although Adams is a licensed health worker registered with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, her license is being reviewed. On January 1, after leaving her job, the nurse visited a pharmacy in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with a fake prescription. She alleged that the 120 oxycodone pills purchased were for a patient she cared for at a nursing home.

According to the police, Adams paid using her credit card. Amid selling to her, a staff from the pharmacy wanted to be convinced of her credibility so the person called her nursing home. However, the officials at the nursing home informed them Adams had been fired. Four days after the first purchase, the unsuspecting nurse returned.

Caitlin Carol Adams lied that the prescription was for a patient at her nursing home. This time, the nurse showed proof. Investigators say that the prescription was under a male patient’s name who was already deceased. Still, the pharmacy declined her request. This led Adams to move to another pharmacy where she bought 180 oxycodone pills using the same lie.
