The Atlanta Police Force claims Lil Baby is responsible for causing the death of two teenagers by shooting a music video in enemy territory. They announced the arrest of seven individuals connected to the homicides and asked for more information on the shootings during a press conference. According to Atlanta Police, the video shoot may land the rapper in jail, as an arrest warrant has been issued.
Lil Baby’s Video Shoot Sparked Violence
Atlanta Police have connected the deaths of two teenage boys to a video shoot Lil Baby did in enemy territory. According to the police, the rapper had a shoot in May 2024 in Northwest Atlanta last May, which led to gun violence. The triple shooting on the set of Lil Baby’s video shoot erupted in a gang war that claimed many lives. Unfortunately, 13-year-olds Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman were caught in the crossfires that led to their deaths. Police said the shootings happened because Lil Baby went to a rival’s area.
Major Ralph Woolfolk, representing the Atlanta Police Department, disclosed this on Wednesday, February 26. He revealed that the teenagers were ambushed during Freeman’s birthday and shot dead. He said their deaths were caused by:
“Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults… and the cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go into a rival gang stronghold and shoot a music video in a place he knew he should not have been.” Per Billboard, the rapper in question was Lil Baby.
Seven Individuals Attackers Arrested For Homicide After Lil Baby Video Shoot
Woolfolk confirmed during the press conference that several days after the video shoot, several shootings led to numerous homicides across the city. This culminated in the murder of Davis and Freeman in July 2024. He also announced that the seven people responsible for the teenagers’ murder had been arrested. Woolfolk blamed Lil Baby for instigating violence with his video shoot and said:
“This team will work relentlessly to hold you accountable.”
He added that there was a “$50,000 reward for those with more information.” Meanwhile, investigators have shed more light on the shootings that continued for several months. They revealed that a “high-ranking” member from a rival gang called for the hit that got the teenage boys killed. They disclosed that the rival gang member made the call from behind bars in a Georgia prison using a contraband phone. In the meantime, an arrest warrant is out for Lil Baby’s arrest.
Lil Baby’s Brush With The Law
The consequences of Lil Baby’s video shoot have been far-reaching. However, this is not his first brush with the law. He was arrested in Las Vegas in 2024 on gun charges near a Vegas casino after being suspected of “carrying a concealed weapon,” per 8NewsNow. The news outlet reported that the rapper asked officers to “to just arrest him for the charge and let’s go.”
He boasted that he was going to “beat the charge” because he had a Georgia license. However, officers notified him that he had broken the law since the gun permit didn’t apply in Nevada. The WHAM rapper, who doesn’t like snitches, is set to appear in court on October 1, 2025, on the charge of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
Lil Baby has not commented on Atlanta Police’s press conference about his dangerous video shoot. Meanwhile, it is unclear what would happen with the rapper based on the arrest warrant issued against him.
