Janet Denise Williams, a 65-year-old security guard at an Atlanta senior living apartment complex, has been arrested and charged with the murder of 90-year-old Chun Ki Kim, who was found dead in his apartment after being stabbed over 50 times.
The incident occurred on September 25, Law & Crime reports. And Williams reportedly attempted to insert herself into the investigation by asking about the evidence collected by police and closely monitoring their activities at the crime scene.
Kim, a retired shoe repair shop owner originally from South Korea, was discovered by his caretaker, who called the authorities after finding him on the kitchen floor.
Surveillance footage revealed her behavior was suspicious; after the murder, she was seen returning to the security desk with a noticeable limp and altered clothing.
After executing a search warrant at her home, police recovered Williams’ security uniforms, Crocs, and a bag that appeared fuller than it should have been after her trip to Kim’s apartment.
Williams is currently being held without bond and was employed by Protect Security, a company contracted by the property management of the facility.
