Attempted Armed Robber Shot and Killed By His Own Weapon, Chicago Police Say

A man was fatally shot with his own gun during an attempted armed robbery on Saturday afternoon, as reported by ABC 7 Chicago.

The incident occurred around 2:51 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Garfield Boulevard in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to Chicago police. The victim, a 43-year-old man, was targeted by the armed robber, who demanded his belongings. During the confrontation, a struggle ensued over the gun.

The armed suspect, whose age is not known, was shot with his own weapon, as reported by Chicago police. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
