Nuri Mohammed was on Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast when he offered women advice. The author and activist claimed that withholding sex until marriage would ensure men committed more and faster. He also shared that delaying intimacy increases the perceived value of a woman and fosters exclusivity. Nuri Mohammed and Cam Newton were discussing the role of Islam in nation-building when the discussion about women came up.
Nuri Mohammed Advises Women
On the latest episode of Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast, Nuri Mohammed encouraged women to delay intimacy without a ring. He said doing this would protect women and increase the rate of marriages in the country.
In a clip Onsite obtained, Mohammed said, “If he is not ready to get down on one knee for you, don’t you open up two knees for him. So, you should show commitment before you get access to this mother of civilization and this queen.” The activist added, “If women would say no, and make it a rule, I guarantee you there’ll be a whole lot more holy matrimony and covenant connections and sacred unions going on.”
Mohammed continued, “If you really knew your value, sisters, I promise you you would stop giving men discounts. If you really knew your value, you would come off that clearance rack and get back behind the glass where the real valuable stuff is at.” He added, “Just like that valuable ring or bracelet can be looked at one at a time, you should have it in your mind as a woman that, look, ‘I’m the only one you’re looking at and considering right now, and if I’m not, then I’m going to have to move on .'”
Netizens React To Nuri Mohammed’s Advice
A lot of people agreed with the Nation of Islam member’s position. They pointed out that people would be better protected from drama in their relationships if they followed Mohammed’s advice. Someone said, “What he said isn’t wrong, it’s tiring coming on here and constantly seeing comments like “BD’s only role is to embarrass you” then why are we giving these men who are not our husbands or long term partners babies.” Another netizen commented, “Facts. He told no lies. Men do what they are allowed to do.. what we let em.” A third person remarked, “Everyone needs to be more intentional. Our children are the ones that suffer the most.”
Meanwhile, many also mocked Cam Newton for his attitude during the interview with Nuri Mohammed. They pointed out that the former NFL star looked uncomfortable and out of place. Someone said, “Cam sitting there looking like he wants to know who approved and scheduled this interview?” A second person wrote, “This a good message but wrong show😂😂…the host ain’t listening.” Another netizen remarked, “Cam lookin like I hope my gf/baby mom don’t watch this 😂” A fourth person commented, “Y Cam keep having guest who’s beyond his intellectual stratosphere???”
Nuri Mohammed’s advice has surprisingly gone down well with his target audience: the women. Hopefully, those who follow it will find it beneficial. Meanwhile, men seem to be avoiding the conversation.
