South Carolina Teenager Pushed Off Of Balcony After Altercation At High School

On Wednesday morning, January 4th, police were sent to West Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina after a student was reportedly pushed from a balcony, CBS 12 stated.

In a statement released by Matthew Dowdell, the school’s principal, the altercation between the two teenagers transpired in between the second and third block of classes. After the incident occurred, administrators and nurses called authorities, and the injured student was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Despite the height he fell from, the teen only suffers from a sprained knee and wrist.

“That’s not no small drop,” a student from West Florence High School explained in an interview. “It’s a really good distance of a drop and there’s like, little brick things that people sit on that he could have fallen onto. And I was really concerned as to what could have happened to him from falling like that.”

Principal Dowdell says an investigation was conducted by school officials and has given all of the information to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. As of now, no arrests have been made. He claims that West Florence “prides itself on keeping our school a safe learning environment.”

Man Banned From Airline For A Month After Urinating On Elderly Passenger During Flight

On November 26th, a 71-year-old woman boarded a flight from New York City to Delhi, India. After passengers were served their lunches, an inebriated man walked over to where the woman was seated. “He unzipped his pants, relieved himself, and continued to expose me to his private parts,” the woman recalls. “My clothes, shoes, and bags were completely soaked in urine.”

After urinating, the man remained standing there, still exposed, until another passenger demanded that he leave. When Air India crew members were alerted to what had occurred, they gave her a set of pajamas and disposable slippers to change into, Wion News reported.

Despite the man committing multiple crimes (including public indecency, public urinating, and battery), he was able to leave freely once the plane had landed. It wasn’t until the woman wrote a letter to the chairman of Tata Group, which owns Air India, that the incident was investigated. Weeks later, the airline has finally reported the man to police and has been banned him from using the airline for an underwhelming one month.

Texas Man Accused Of Kidnapping, Assaulting, And Starving Woman He Met On Dating App

A Spring, Texas man is now facing charges after allegedly kidnapping, torturing, and sexually assaulting a woman he met on a dating app, as reported by ABC 13.

On December 29th, police responded to a report of a woman who was severely abused by a man. When officials arrived, they discovered a woman with severe bruising to the majority of her body, bite marks, and cuts to both her throat and nose. The victim then told Harris County deputies that she had initially met Zachary Mills on Bumble, and agreed to meet with him in person at his apartment on December 24th. When she refused to have sex with him, the 21-year-old began punching, slapping, and biting her before forcing himself on her. For the next five days, he held her captive, denying her both food and water. When Mills finally left his apartment to visit his father, the victim was able to escape and search for help.

On Friday, December 30th, Mills was located and arrested. He has since then been released from jail on a $50,000 bond and has been placed on house arrest. He is scheduled to reappear in court in March. Though the suspect currently has only been charged with a first-degree felony of aggravated kidnapping, more charges are to be expected.

According to a Bumble representative, Mill has been banned from the dating app indefinitely. The company continues to remind its users to use safe practices when meeting a stranger: meeting in a public place, telling someone you trust where you’re going, and researching the person you’re meeting as much as possible.

Funeral Home Director Receives 20 Years In Prison After Cutting Up Bodies And Selling The Parts

In July of 2018, a funeral director in Montrose, Colorado pleaded guilty dismembering and selling body parts of the deceased without the consent of family members. According to Insider, the accused fraudulently disposed of the bodies of 560 people within 8 years.

“Instead of offering guidance, these greedy women betrayed the trust of hundreds of victims and mutilated their loved ones,” Leonard Carollo, the FBI Denver Acting Special Agent in Charge, said in a statement.

Megan Hess, the owner of Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors, would meet with people seeking cremation services, charging them around $1,000. Instead of providing grieving families and friends with their loved one’s ashes, the 46-year-old and her mother would harvest the deceased’s body parts and sell them to body broker services. Government records state that many clients received a combination of the unsold parts of the deceased and concrete mix.

Many family members testified in court, stating that Hess’ actions caused irreparable damage. “Our sweet mother, they dismembered her,” one family member, Erin Smith, said. “We don’t even have a name for a crime this heinous.”

Selling human organs is illegal and can only be donated, but other body parts (arms, heads, and spines) can be sold to educational and research institutions. In order to accept the remains from Hess, these scientific organizations unknowingly received forged donor forms.

On Tuesday, January 3rd, over four years later, Hess was finally sentenced to 20 years in prison for fraud. Her mother, 69-year-old Shirley Koch, received 15 years for aiding and abetting the fraud.

After Sheriff Refused To Prosecute, DA Files Charges Against Swim Instructor In Drowning Death Of 4-Year-Old Boy

On June 14th, 4-year-old Israel “Izzy” Scott was on his second day of swimming lessons in Waynesboro, Georgia. 10 minutes after his instructor, Lexie Tenhuisen, had seen him, Izzy’s body was found in the bottom of the pool. Despite a nurse attempting CPR, Izzy was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, Atlanta Black Star reported.

During the lessons, which were held at a private residence, Tenhuisen would not allow parents to be in the swimming area. Many remained in their vehicles as their children participated. It was in her car where Izzy’s mother, Dori Scott, was told about her son’s drowning.

“I’m an emotional rollercoaster,” Dori said in an interview with CBS affiliate News 12. “Some days I’m crying looking at pictures and looking at videos. He was just friendly, very sweet, very smart. He was just starting to learn how to read and write. He just loved adventure. He wasn’t scared of nothing.”

Almost 7 months after Izzy’s passing, Lexie Tenhuisen has finally been charged with involuntary manslaughter, as instructed by Burke County District Attorney’s Jared T. Williams after “months of “dedicated inquiry, investigation, and legal analysis.” Dori Scott celebrated the arrest, stating that her family continues to feel a void in their every day lives. “All three of my kids are different, not having his little, caring energy around is- even our car rides are different,” she explains. “Because everybody feels that void.”

Woman Arrested For Trying To Hire Hitman To Kill Ex’s Wife And Daughter

Early in December, authorities caught wind of a woman’s plan to hire someone to carry out a murder. They then sent an undercover police officer to meet 56-year-old Marilyn Zhou.

On December 18th, while meeting up with the cop in Trenton, New Jersey, Zhou thoroughly explained her expectations, which resulted in the death of her ex-husband’s new wife. The suspect told the fake hitman that the would-be victim has a 13-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, and that if the teenager was present at the time of the murder, then she should also be killed. According to New York Post, Zhou provided the officer with a pair of rubber gloves, a towel, two photographs of the woman she wanted dead, and $21,000. She then told him that she would give him an additional $20,000 after the killing had taken place.

Later that day, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit made the arrest. Inside Zhou’s home in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, investigators found items she had recommended using for the murder, along with $18,000 in cash. The 56-year-old has now been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of money laundering.
