B. Simone’s best friend, Shekinah, has revealed she once struggled with resentment toward the podcast host. She shared on the latter’s podcast that she almost became bitter when B. Simone failed to help her in her time of need. Shekinah revealed what her situation looked like at the time and claimed B. Simone helped others but neglected her. However, she claimed that she gained a great deal during this time, which helped shape who she is today. Meanwhile, netizens are piling on B. Simone for not being a true friend.
B. Simone’s best friend, Shekinah, Admits To Feeling Resentful
Simone is facing heavy backlash after her best friend, Shekinah, revealed she once failed to help her. The duo was on the comedian’s Let’s Try This Again podcast this week when Shekinah opened up. She claimed she once went through a difficult financial season, but her best friend failed to step in. She confessed to almost falling into the pit of resentment due to this. Shekinah said:
“Being a best friend with a celebrity, everybody thinks that ‘Oh, because you’re connected to this person, then your life is just as grand.” She added that she “didn’t have a job, living with my parents, a single mom, all this happened to me this past year.” Shekinah divulged that what made the situation harder for her was watching her friend help others while neglecting her own needs.
“And then it was like to not have resentment in my heart towards [B. Simone], because I saw you do this for other people,” she continued. “I saw you give a check to somebody to help them through whatever they went through. Nobody didn’t give me a handout, but guess what? That wasn’t your responsibility,” she said.
Shekinah Claims Her Trying Time Built Her
Simone’s best friend, Shekinah, adopted a positive outlook as she sought to draw a lesson from what happened. She said she needed to go through that situation to become who she is today.
“God had to take me through that for my own season for my own thing,” Shekinah told her best friend, B. Simone. “I had to get my car repossessed. I had to go through the food stamp line. I had to be on Medicaid because I’m building my story, too.”
However, she admitted that the lesson would have been easier if her friend had stepped in. She told B. Simone that watching the situation unfold was “hard to digest,” being “a friend of somebody who has it.”
Simone Under Backlash For Not Helping Her Best Friend
Netizens were not happy about B. Simone’s attitude toward her best friend, Shekinah. They were even more pissed about her responses while Shekinah narrated her story. Many opined that B. Simone was not a true friend. They noted that they would have helped someone they considered a best friend if they could do so.
Someone commented on Onsite’s! Instagram page, “Ik that wasn’t her responsibility but as a friend I’m not gonna watch my friend struggle especially if I got it.” Another person said, “Her saying “Jesus” at if she’s not the “friend” she’s referring to.”
A third person noted that Shekinah was giving B. Simone a heads-up that their relationship would no longer remain the same. They remarked, “That’s her friend [Shekinah’s] way of letting her know…I saw how you treated me while I was down! She may remain friendly with her but there’s a blockage there now.
Simone’s attitude toward her best friend, Shekinah, who was in need, was improper. As people have pointed out, they need to conduct a proper evaluation of their friendship. Hopefully, things will continue to work out for Shekinah.
