A hairdresser from Memphis, Tennessee, named Mychelle Ray, 31, is facing charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment after a confrontation with a customer over an additional payment.
According to Law & Crime, on September 13 the customer paid $50 as a deposit and $410 via Zelle but was asked to pay an additional $50 before the service concluded at Luv My Hair Salon.
When the customer questioned the extra charge, Ray allegedly became enraged, cursing and threatening the client with scissors, saying, “Don’t move, because I got these scissors next to your face.” She then reportedly blocked the customer’s exit, declaring, “B—-, you’re not going anywhere until you pay me.” The client called the police, and Ray was later arrested.
While the victim wasn’t harmed she did tell police that she feared for her life.
Ray was released on a $7,500 bond and is due to appear in court on October 14.
