The owner of Moncrief Bail Bonds has been accused of soliciting sex to grant favors. The lawsuit against him says that he preyed on women seeking bail or in jail. In exchange, he granted them freedom, yet still tortured them with threats. A 75-year-old man known as Rusell Bruce Moncrief of Moncrief Bail Bonds risks serving 127 years in prison. According to Attorney General Ashley Moody, his charges include racketeering and human trafficking.

People say that the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigations, Moncrief used his position to influence women for years. Since 2021, the MBI has had its eyes on the defendant. They discovered that as a bondsman, his prey were female prisoners in Orange County Jail. He also targeted those on drug charges or prostitution and were eligible for bail. The senior citizens offered bonds on the condition that they must return the favor with sex.
As for the inmates, they were promised freedom if they played by the rules. Funnily enough, these inmates were asked to arrange for someone outside to perform the act. Moncrief further topped it up by selling some of these women for prostitution purposes. Court documents suggest that he had buyers.
One way to ensure the smoothness of the operation was for people to pledge themselves. They used code words like “wash his car and lick his eyebrows.” According to one of his victims, Moncrief did bail her out, but she fulfilled the bondsman’s desires. As soon as she got out, she performed sexual acts with him in his car.
Unfortunately, most of these inmates only come out of jail with no true freedom. Allegedly, they were mostly threatened to have their bonds revoked if they failed to be consistent. While satisfying the defendant’s sexual urges, they must also comply to be hired by his buyers. After being arrested by the Orange County Fugitive Unit, he was detained without bail. His charges include four first-degree felonies and one third-degree felony.
