A Black postal worker stuffing Kamala Harris flyers in mailboxes got more than she bargained for when a Trump supporter attacked her.
The aggressor, Russell Frank Valleau of Farmington Hills attacked the postal worker saying he didn’t want that “that “Black b***h” in his mailbox, referring to Harris. He also called the postal worker the “B” word.
Valleau then lunged for the mail carrier who used pepper spray to avert the attack.
“He’s accused of yelling derogatory, racist and sexual remarks about Harris and the carrier, calling the postal carrier a ‘Black b***h” and lunging at her with a knife,” according to the report.
“The postal carrier used pepper spray on Valleau to stop the attack. Farmington Hills police later arrested him in a neighbor’s yard.”
On Thursday, the ornery 61-year-old was arrested on Thursday.
“In this highly charged political moment, everyone has a right to their political opinion and vote. Whatever our political beliefs, no one should be assaulted or threatened because of their race, or for doing their job. Hate crimes impact all of us, and we will vigorously pursue all such cases,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in a statement, CBS Detroit reports.
He now faces “up to two years in prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000,” and is due in court Oct. 27.
