Austin Brooks, a 40-year-old man from Kentucky, is facing charges for driving drunk to buy beer. Last week, while driving with his son and nephew in the truck bed, his son and nephew jumped out, resulting in his son falling into a coma, per the New York Post.
While driving too fast on a wet road, Brooks approached Love’s Truck Stop. His son and nephew became worried and banged on the truck’s cab to get his attention. Fearing for their safety, they jumped from the truck.
The report states that Brooks did not stop the truck after the boys jumped out. His nephew had minor injuries, while his son is in a coma at the hospital with a potential brain injury. He faces multiple charges.
