A British nursing student studying in the United States has been found stabbed to death in her Houston, Texas apartment, just days before her graduation, according to police and her family.
Elizabeth Tamilore Odunsi, 23, was discovered on April 26 by officers who went to her residence for a welfare check, as reported by Houston police per BBC News. Authorities indicated that she suffered multiple stab wounds. In a separate room, a man was found with a stab wound and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Ms. Odunsi ran a TikTok account named Tamidollars, which had 30,000 followers, where she documented her experiences as a British person living in the United States. In her most recent post, dated April 21, she expressed excitement about her upcoming graduation in two weeks and mentioned that she had already booked a vacation.
As stated by the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a call at the student housing complex at 3:50 PM local time last Saturday. When they knocked on the door, there was no response. Noticing blood on a rear concrete patio, they proceeded to enter the apartment. “The female victim was discovered on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds. A male was discovered in a bedroom with at least one stab wound,” detectives wrote. Ms. Odunsi was declared dead at the scene.
An online fundraising campaign aimed at repatriating her remains to the UK for burial has raised over £47,000 ($62,000). In a previous TikTok post, she shared a video of herself studying, with the caption: “She doesn’t know it yet, but a year from now all her hard work will pay off, she’ll be working as a nurse in her dream specialty.”
