Margarita Novela Galindo was sitting in the passenger seat next to her husband, Florencio, as they drove on the 210 Freeway near Sylmar, California, around 7 p.m. on August 9. At the same time, the Los Angeles Fire Department received calls about a man threatening to jump off the Roxford Street overpass.

The man fell through Galindo’s windshield and landed on her, according to her family. Florencio was not seriously injured. Galindo was taken to a hospital nearby in serious condition. She spent her final weeks in the ICU before she sadly passed away from her injuries.

“Tragically, my mom passed away, leaving behind me, my brother, my sister, and her seven grandchildren,”

the son, David Galindo said on GoFundMe. The grieving son went on to say,

“It’s incredibly unfair that her life was taken because someone else didn’t want theirs,”

the crowdfunding post said.

Florencio, is devastated by his wife’s death but does not hold any anger toward the man who jumped.

“He doesn’t know what problems he may have had to commit suicide, but he doesn’t have any resentment,”

her daughter, Stephanie Galindo told the outlet.
