Now we’re all quarantined at home and we see the celebrities going on Instagram live from their mansions, but Ellen feels like her mansion feels like a prison. Clearly, she was exaggerating to prove the point that she can’t leave, but she earned Donkey of the Day as there are people in prison fighting for their lives.
“In light of what’s going on in prisons and jails around the country in this global pandemic called COVID-19, Ellen Degeneres sounds tone-deaf as hell,” Charlamagne said. He starts his segment by noting that he isn’t blaming her for having a mansion because she worked for it, but don’t compare your pandemic experience to those really suffering.
Charlamagne then proceeds to ask Ellen to use her massive platform to help shed a light on some of the issues prisoners are currently facing. He played a disturbing clip shared by inmate Aron Campbell highlighting the rampant spread across his low-security facility.
