Charlamagne Tha God gave fans of Wendy Williams happy news on Tuesday, January 7, during his show. He revealed that Williams sounded fine and didn’t seem disabled, as her legal guardian reported. Charlamagne also dropped hopeful news, suggesting that the Wendy Williams Show host could return to daytime television if she wished to. His report confirms the recent videos of Williams making the rounds on the internet and showing her to be in full control of her cognitive abilities.
Charlamagne Tha God Says Wendy Williams is Okay
On Tuesday, Charlamagne Tha God attested to Wendy Williams’ cognitive abilities and said she was good to go. The news is particularly delightful to fans who have missed her candid opinions and interesting insight on social issues. Based on her demeanor on the phone, Charlagmane dispelled worries that Williams was “permanently disabled” or “incapacitated.”
“She seemed perfectly fine to me. Wendy sounded like she could do radio tomorrow if she wanted to,” he told his co-hosts Jess Hilarious and DJ Envy. “She called me. And I don’t know what incapacitated means in regards to dementia or whatever it is they said she was dealing with, but no. There ain’t nothing incapacitated about Wendy Williams,” he added, explaining that she called on the phone to celebrate the holidays with a loved one.
Wendy Williams Still Observant
Charlamagne Tha God shared an example to prove his point about Wendy Williams. He narrated how she noticed his lack of enthusiasm over the phone, especially since they had not talked in a while.
“She asked [me], ‘Why are you answering the phone like we just spoke yesterday [or] last week?’ She wanted me to be more excited [that] she called me,” The Breakfast Club host recounted.
He answered a question about the 60-year-old host’s energy, saying, “She sounds like Wendy Williams!”
Charlamagne Tha God also recalled that Wendy Williams immediately noticed that his phone was recording their conversation. He explained that his ear accidentally put the call into the recording mode while doing his business, and Williams picked up on it quickly. She asked if he was recording their conversation and said:
“Nah, you wouldn’t do that. She’s perfectly normal,” he assessed.
Wendy Williams’ Outings in December
Charlagmane Tha God’s revelations confirm what many have hoped is true since Wendy Williams’ last two outings. The talk show host attended her sons’ graduation ceremony in December and was seen in a video posted by the We in Miami podcast host yelling at her attendants for leaving her scooter in the streets. She also complained about the disorganization, which made her approach the wrong car. The Shade Room obtained footage of the podcast host commenting on Williams’ family holiday gathering.
“She was mentally very sharp,” he said. “I didn’t see any signs of mental decline. I had several conversations with Wendy. She was cracking jokes, she made everybody laugh. It was the Wendy that we all know and love.”
He added that Williams’s family pampered her, and she seemed to be in good physical shape. The TV personality was also spotted picking up food from a restaurant in Florida early last month and greeted a fan who recognized her.
Charlamagne Tha God’s comments and Stunt Lifestyle’s clips of Wendy Williams tell a different tale from her court-appointed guardian’s reports. The legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, had described the media personality as “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated,” when she filed a lawsuit against A+E Networks. Per People, Morrissey was fighting the network over a docuseries, Where Is Wendy Williams? about the show host, who was earlier diagnosed with dementia and aphasia.
Morrissey claimed Williams was not in the right condition for filming, but the network and its associates did it anyway. She claimed they “humiliated and exploited” the talk show host. However, A&E countersued Morrisey. They said no one from Williams’ team, including Morrissey, had tried to halt the filming. Meanwhile, the reports only left fans of Williams worried. Fortunately, her son, who had been spending time with her, revealed she was okay and bored, so they tried to take her home.
Chalagmane Tha God’s update has kept fans hopeful of a possible return from Wendy Williams. Hopefully, she is okay and often communicates with friends, family, and fans.
