A duo set to marry came up with one of the most unique wedding ideas of the decade! This couple expects their guests to cater for their refreshments. While they choose the wedding destination, invitees are to prepare food and pay for their lodge. Here’s what many have had to say about it.
Would You Cook Your Meal At A Wedding? This Couple Thinks It’s a Unique Idea
Recently via Reddit, a poster shared how their friend just got engaged. Although there is no set date for the wedding, the couple already have a unique idea. According to them, their “I dos” will be hosted in a luxury resort that they often visit. Apart from being an expensive site, it is located far from the regular homes around. It would take the poster 4 hours of driving to get there which nearly equates to interstate travel.
The poster further explained that a night in this resort goes for approximately $300. While the cost considering the luxury may seem affordable, there’s a catch. This resort comprising cabins and suites allows its guests to pay for only three nights minimum!
With this in place, the couple still believes that their guests should be able to show up. However, there is also self-added baggage. Since the resort lies far away from town, there is no restaurant on site. So it is either the guests pay for the food in-house or bring their own. As a result, this couple would prefer that their friends form groups and cook together during their stay there. Then on the wedding day, these groups must also cook for the event.
For the poster, this unique idea shared by the lovebirds for their wedding seemed a bit inconsiderate. Expecting about 40 to 60 guests to pay for their lodge, cook, and possibly bring gifts was going overboard. The writer confirmed that around $1200 will be spent on an individual’s stay and food. Thus expecting a gift would also be selfish.
Without holding back, the person added that it didn’t sit right and many people would have their reservations. Yet, this didn’t seem to bother the couple. Instead, they believe that those who would honor the request would show that they value them Per People, commenters fully support the poster, adding that it was indeed a selfish choice to make. A few believed that it was strictly their choice, but they were not to expect compliance from friends.
