On Tuesday, the Cardiff Crown Court sealed the fate of two men— Daniel Hancox and Stephen Thomas, per The Sun. The latter had accused Hancox of raping him while he was under 13. The victim claimed that he was abused two times, in a secluded area.

The abuser aged 11 at the time coerced his victim to touch his private area and perform oral sex while he stuck his finger into his privates. Meanwhile, Hancox subdued his victim by lying that their acts were normal after showing him adult content.

Through the years, Thomas was taunted by the tortuous effects of the abuse. He suffered from mental health issues and sexual identity crises. Despite the abuse happening years ago, he couldn’t get past it.

More than a decade later, the victim revisited the site and discovered the discarded mattress where it all took place. This refreshed the gory details of his abuse, leading him to weep. In court, the jury convicted Daniel Hancox. They ruled that he was guilty of two counts of raping a boy under 13 and causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Others included causing a child to watch a sexual act and three counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a boy under 13. The defense argued that his client was not a repeat offender and lived in a home promoting “family values.”

Consequently, the judge sentenced him to two years community order, an indefinite restraining order, and to submit to sex offender requirements for five years. Additionally, Daniel Hancox would also undergo rehabilitation for 40 days.
