Dank Demoss’ size has been the subject of discussion for several weeks. The Detroit native went viral two weeks ago after her controversy with ride-hailing company Lyft. Demoss shared a video in which a Lyft driver refused her entry into his car because of her size. The incident hurt her, prompting her to call out Lyft publicly for what she termed “discriminatory.” Recently, a 2024 clip has resurfaced that shows her addressing the issue of her size.
Dank Demoss’ Mind Can’t Comprehend Her Size
Dank Demoss’ size has not held her back. Rather, she has been quite confident with her 500-pound body. This perhaps explains why she believed she could fit in a Mercedes-Benz sedan two weeks ago. After being denied entry into the vehicle, an irate Demoss called out the driver’s company, Lyft, and sued them for discriminating against her based on her weight. Despite the negative backlash against her action, which got the driver fired, the rapper has not withdrawn her lawsuit.
A 2024 interview that recently resurfaced puts Demoss’ actions into better perspective. The rapper was with SBOY Entertainment in June of last year when she disclosed that her mind couldn’t comprehend her size.
“My mind does not know that I’m this big, so I be feeling like I could do everything,” she said. “When I walk into the gym, I feel like I’m fit or like if I’m trying to do certain shit, I feel like I could do it. And then I be like ‘damn, I can’t do this s***, but in my head, I’m like ‘I can do that something'” she added.
Dank Demoss Breakfast Club Interview
Meanwhile, Dank Demoss’ size came into play again this week when she joined The Breakfast Club hosts for an interview. The midwestern rapper, who said her mind can’t comprehend her size and that she goes “to the gym in front of all those people, 500 pounds and shorts, no shirt,” realized she couldn’t fit into a wheeled office chair very quickly. Demoss, who showed up wearing a one-piece with a cutout in the front and an orange jacket to the interview, asked for a bigger seat as soon as she sat in the chair.
“This the only seat y’all got?” she asked.
The show’s hosts pulled out a couch, to which Demoss replied, “This is what I’m talking about. Good. This is accommodation,” referencing the incident with the Lyft driver. “I can fit in this car,” she had assured the driver, who responded, “Believe me, you can’t,” and canceled her ride. During her time on The Breakfast Club, the rapper said she doesn’t understand why people won’t accommodate her with her size. When asked why they should, she replied, “Why not?”
Dank Demoss’ History of Going Viral
Dank Demoss’ size is not the only thing that has made her go viral. She has also gained public attention in the past with her outfit and artistry. In 2017, she went viral after posting a picture of herself on Facebook in nothing but a scarf, according to SK Pop.
The self-proclaimed FSD records label CEO also had a brief stint with public attention last year when she participated in Deb Atney’s competition reality show, Deb’s House. At the time, Atney sent Demoss home to work on herself and her health despite her incredible talent.
