A few days after Dawn Richard’s testimony about Diddy and Cassie’s relationship, an old clip of Richard resurfaced online. In the clip, Richard revealed that Diddy had once helped her, and she would forever be grateful to him. This is coming shortly after Richard told jurors in a federal court about witnessing Diddy’s abusive behavior. She also claimed he once warned her he would make her vanish if she ever told anyone what she saw.
Resurfaced Clip Shows Dawn Richard Praising Diddy
An old clip of Dawn Richard talking about her time and experience working with Diddy recently resurfaced online. Richard was on the Nessa Off Air podcast with Nessa Diab when she opened up about being “loyal” to Diddy. In the clip, she told her host that she didn’t talk to the music mogul as often as she’d like.
“But that’s the homie forever,” she added, per Onsite! Richard continued, saying, “People didn’t know that Puff had bought me out of a contract prior to even getting on the show. Like, it wasn’t a ‘I chose Puff over my group.’ At the time, it was more of, when someone does that, where I come from, you got to respect them, so I gave loyalty to him, but all his crazy, I look at things like that as loyalty, so I was loyal to him, and I paid my dues back like a business woman should until he said, ‘Okay, your dues are paid,’ and then I left.

Richard was a witness for the prosecutors in Diddy’s sex trafficking trial, as she once worked for him. Diddy had signed her former music group, Danity Kane, to his Bad Boy label. The singer took the stand from Friday to Monday last week and confirmed much of what Cassie Ventura said. During her testimony, Dawn Richard revealed that she often saw Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, physically and emotionally. Her old clip resurfaced shortly after she took the stand against the music mogul.
Dawn Richard told the court Diddy once threatened to “kill” her and another witness after they saw him attack Cassie. The rapper threatened them after they saw him punch and kick his ex, including swinging a skillet at her, the previous day. Dawn Richard said Diddy told her and the other woman, “We could go missing” if they told anyone. When Assistant U.S. Attorney Mitzi Steiner asked what she understood that to mean, Richard said, “That we could die.”
Dawn Richard disclosed other instances of abuse against Cassie where Diddy would frequently “punch her, choke her, drag her, slap her in the mouth. I saw him kick her, and punch her in the stomach,” she said, per the Associated Press. She claimed the mogul beat his ex if she spoke up for herself or “had an opinion about something.” Meanwhile, none of his bodyguards or staff ever intervened or said anything while he beat Cassie. Dawn Richard also said she heard Diddy tell her she would only succeed on his terms.
Public opinion remains divided despite Dawn Richard’s old clip about her loyalty and eternal gratitude to Diddy resurfacing. While some have called her an opportunist, others think she might have forced her to hide her true feelings.
