DDG has requested permission from the court to visit his son while his ex-girlfriend films her new movie. Halle Bailey was granted temporary custody of their son, Halo, and will take him with her to Italy. DDG initially requested that his mother supervise their visit, but Bailey’s team objected. The judge granted the streamer’s request on the condition that a neutral party oversee the visitation. His and Bailey’s legal teams are now on the lookout for a professional monitor to supervise the visit.

DDG approached the court on June 24 to request approval to visit his son, Halo, in Italy. This request comes amid his ongoing custody battle with ex-girlfriend Halle Bailey, who has temporary sole custody of Halo. He asked the Los Angeles court to allow his mother, Tonya-Yvette Granberry, to supervise the visit. However, Bailey’s team objected to the request, citing a history of bias and enabling behavior. They referenced previous social media comments by Granberry and other family members against the actress.

However, the Little Mermaid’s star’s legal team wasn’t opposed to DDG’s visit and suggested a neutral, professional monitor instead. The judge considered DDG’s request “reasonable” but ruled that a professional third party should monitor the visit rather than a family member. The court also banned DDG from posting any content involving Halo and the visit on social media. His legal team, as well as Bailey’s, is now looking for a qualified monitor. The judge fixed a follow-up court hearing for June 26 at 1:30 pm.

Halle Bailey Claims DDG Didn’t Care for Their Son

Halle Bailey’s restraining order remains in place, and she will maintain sole custody of Halo until July 23. The judge will confirm whether the two sides are ready to move forward with their full case by then. Meanwhile, in a previous legal filing, Bailey had explained that she couldn’t leave Halo with her ex. She noted that he had his own extended travel plans and there was the issue with the protective order. DDG had filed a countersuit to stop her from leaving the country.

Bailey said, “I must be on set in Italy to film a movie… This is my source of income, on which Halo and I rely.” She explained that a contract bound her, and she was obligated to film in Italy from June to August. The actress also revealed that DDG had been aware of her work plans for months but waited until the last minute to file a suit. Additionally, she raised concerns about his pattern of abuse in the presence of their son. The singer, who is currently filming in Italy, has received court approval to take Halo with her.

Bailey added that DDG had not provided regular support since their son’s birth and failed to take up parenting responsibilities. The Grown-ish actress further alleged that her ex-boyfriend and his legal team ignored her attempts to arrange supervised visits. He filed his countersuit a few weeks later.

Halle Bailey and DDG’s custody battle over their son, Halo, has gotten more difficult in the last few weeks. Hopefully, the former couple can work out their differences and amicably co-parent their son.
