Dominic Weaver, 47, is guilty of owing between $114,000 to $120,000 in child support. Per Law and Crime, in 2019, he was hit with a five-year probation sentence for flagrant non-support. However, he fled the city where he was to serve probation.
Kentucky police tell WDRB that the dad has remained irresponsible. Despite fleeing, he refused to settle his child support debt, per NY Post. However, the Kentucky dad was under the police radar after he landed in Miami.
The 47-year-old had been enjoying his vacation on a cruise ship and was surprised to be greeted by the cops in the city. According to Jefferson County, Attorney Mike O’ Connell, the suspect was then transported to the Bluegrass State.
Following his actions, he has four cases to answer with the child support division. For O’Connell, this was an overwhelming case involving a deadbeat dad owing a large sum. He added that it was nothing like the cases he had seen. With him in custody, the officials are seeking a jail term of four years.
They intend to ask the court to revoke his initial probation sentence. Weaver will make a first appearance in court on January 6, 2025. Until then, Dominic Weaver’s fate remains unknown. However, it has been established that the 47-year-old dad is highly neglectful. Weaver was listed on a 2021 list of parents who owe large sums for their kids’ welfare.
