On Sunday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the death of Ryan Kobayashi, Hannah’s father. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained by the authorities. However, DailyMailOnline reports that it could be suicide. According to the publication, Ryan jumped to his death while he was in a parking garage.

In the break of dawn, the body of the 58-year-old was found near the LAX airport. Ryan had traveled to Los Angeles to support the authorities as this was the city Hannah was last seen in. His 31-year-old daughter, an aspiring photographer, had flown into the city from Maui, Hawaii. She was on her way to New York but never made it there.

While speaking to DailyMailOnline during his 13-day search, Hannah Kobayashi’s father said all hands were on deck. He assured his family that they would do everything to find Hannah. He praised his daughter for putting smiles on the faces of others. After news of his death broke, the family asked for privacy while they expressed their grief.

At the same time, the search for Hannah is still ongoing. So far, investigations posit that the Hawaiin native was onboard with her ex-boyfriend. Allegedly, he booked their flights right before their separation. While he continued to New York, Hannah stopped over at LAX.

Security cameras show her alighting from the plane on November 8. Her journey to her final destination was due at 11 pm, about an hour after landing. Strangely, the young woman never boarded the flight. Authorities say she was seen lurking around the next day. She later spent the night at the airport. During her stay, Hannah contacted her family but her behavior was unusual.
