Prosecutors and Diddy’s defense team took the testimony of his former assistant, Capricorn Clark, this week. During her testimony, Clark revealed the many instances of abuse and violence she witnessed while working for Diddy. However, she explained that working for the music mogul wasn’t totally a terrible affair. Capricorn Clark praised Diddy in her testimony, saying that he paved the way for several Black artists. She also shared that she thought Cassie Ventura was not a talented performer.
Capricorn Clark Rips Cassie During Diddy Testimony
Capricorn spoke with no holds barred during her testimony about Diddy this week. She was candid about her interactions with the music executive and his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Diddy’s defense attorney, Marc Agnifillo, cross-examined Clark while she was on the witness stand and got her to praise Diddy. She shared how their relationship grew complicated but admitted that the record producer “broke that glass ceiling for [Black artists].
Capricorn Clark also touched on her feelings about Cassie’s career and attitude while giving her testimony about Diddy. She revealed that she used to manage the Me & U singer, but they sometimes didn’t get along. Clark also shared that Cassie had transitioned from “being a sweet model to being a feisty girlfriend.” She added, “In 2008, she got more bravado being his girlfriend the longer it lasted.”
When Agnifillo asked her thoughts about Cassie’s talent, Clark told the court she wasn’t impressed by her talent. Clark responded that the R&B singer “had talent and was very beautiful,” but wasn’t particularly talented. Clark said talent meant Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey to her but that Cassie was more of a studio musician. She noted that Cassie “needed things equalized,” but Diddy supported her with more resources than any other artist at Bad Boy to make her a star.
Capricorn Clark Highlights Diddy’s Violent Nature
Capricorn Clark’s testimony was not all about praising Diddy; she also shared his violent sides that scared her. The mogul’s former assistant shared that she lived in fear of him as he threatened to kill her several times. She noted that her former boss was ruthless, volatile, and abusive, relying on threats and violence to control people. In one instance, she narrated how Diddy rushed at her and shoved her almost two decades ago. The incident occurred at his Miami home, and Clark said it crossed her boundaries.
In another instance, Clark told jurors that Diddy subjected her to five days of lie detector tests. This incident occurred after a bag of jewelry went missing, and the questioning lasted for hours each day. The man who administered the test told her he would throw her in New York’s East River if she failed.
In December 2011, he ordered her to get dressed as they were going to kill Kid Cudi. Diddy had a gun with him at the time. Capricorn Clark’s testimony also included witnessing Diddy beat Cassie, including one time when he hit her severely in 2011. She added that she took Cassie to purchase a burner phone after discovering Cassie and Kid Cudi’s relationship. Clark explained that she was concerned Cassie was texting Cudi with the phone Diddy got her. She was worried the relationship would get them all killed.
Prosecutors have described Capricorn Clark’s testimony about Diddy as the most explosive yet. Meanwhile, Cassie herself has been admitted to the hospital on account of her pregnancy. We wish her a safe delivery.
