Sean “Diddy” Combs has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons. Diddy is awaiting trial, and according to a rep, the music mogul is in a more stable mental state. Recall that on Sept. 16, 2024, the business icon was arrested at a hotel in Manhattan. Reports revealed that he was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Prosecutors alleged that Diddy performed these acts using his fame and influence as well as drugs like cocaine, ketamine, and oxycodone.

Diddy Placed on Suicide Watch Ahead of Trial

Diddy allegedly coerced and intimidated women into joining elaborate sex performances called “freak offs.” Also, the freak-offs were sometimes reportedly captured on camera without the victims’ knowledge. In addition, the freak-offs allegedly involved paying male sex workers. Federal agents further claimed they seized more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and other lubricants from Diddy’s home that were used in these sex acts. Despite the felony charges, the rapper pleaded not guilty, tagging the prosecution as “unjust.”

Diddy’s attorneys proposed a $50 million bail package. However, a judge denied the bail, which was upheld on appeal. Consequently, Diddy was remanded at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Following the disgraced star’s arrest, reports revealed Diddy was placed on a suicide watch. According to insiders, the authorities enacted the suicide watch as Diddy’s mental state and shock after his arrest were uncertain.

Diddy Out of Suicide Watch

At the time, it was unknown if the rapper was suicidal. However, sources revealed that the watch was a preventive measure. Diddy is reportedly in a better mental state two weeks after the arrest. On Sunday, a law enforcement informant told People that Diddy was no longer on suicide watch. The source shared that the incarcerated star had received multiple visits from relatives while in custody. Meanwhile, Diddy’s lawyer has revealed that their client is “focused and very strong” amid his incarceration. With Diddy’s trial scheduled for early October, he is concentrating on his defense.

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, recently told TMZ that his client would testify at his upcoming federal trial. According to Agnifilo, the founder of Bad Boy Records was very eager to tell his story. In the meantime, Diddy will have to focus on staying safe at the MDC. The center houses about 1600 inmates, many of whom are awaiting trial. The MDC is known for being very dangerous and understaffed, with a high number of deaths and suicides. In their motion for Diddy to be granted bail, his lawyers wrote that the conditions at the MDC were not for pre-trial detention.

The attorneys revealed that an inmate was murdered earlier in the summer. They also said that at least four inmates had died by suicide at the MDC in the past three years. Furthermore, the attorneys asked that Diddy be moved to a prison in Essex County in New Jersey. However, the judge put the decision in the hands of the Bureau of Prisons.

#Clique, will Diddy be transferred to another facility before his trial? Only time will tell.
