You can find the most interesting costumes at Comic-Con, but one that mocks the tragic death of a celebrity shouldn’t be one.
According to TMZ, a man in China dressed up as the late Los Angeles Lakers star player Kobe Bryant with a makeshift helicopter on his back to mimic the horrendous accident that occurred on January 26, 2020, that claimed Bryant’s life along with his daughter Gianna and seven others.
The offensive has sparked outrage in the States, but in Hangzhou, some people thought it was quite funny attire. The unidentified man wore a number 24 Lakers jersey and even a Kobe Bryant mask.
Fans on social media called out the Asian man for wearing the “tasteless” outfit.

“The most disgusting and disrespectful thing I saw on the Internet today- somebody at a Comic Con event made a Kobe Bryant helicopter costume!? That is a tragedy that took several lives! I don’t see the humor or the point in making let alone wearing a costume like this! Wtf!😡,” said one commenter Dwanna on Twitter.
It’s sad to think Kobe’s widow and children might come across this disrespectful picture. However, Kobe is still beloved and recently received a statue outside of the Crypto.Com Arena in his honor.
