O.R. WOODYARD CO.

An Ohio father is sharing his pain after the family dog killed his infant daughter. Kameron Turner posted on Facebook, “I’d give my life to bring my baby back,” just a day after the tragic death of his seven-month-old daughter, Elizah, according to PEOPLE

The deadly incident took place on the morning of April 9 at a house in Columbus. Body camera footage from the Columbus Police Department shows a man greeting the officer and describing how a dog attacked a baby at the home earlier that day.

The man told the officer that he had trapped one dog in a black car and mentioned that two others are on the property. The body camera footage shows officers arriving at the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m. Elizah Turner was sadly declared deceased at 11:43 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.

A spokesperson confirmed that a parent initially took the baby to a local fire station, then to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where Dr. Jennifer Melvin declared the infant, Elizah, dead. Three dogs from the home are with Franklin Animal Control, which is investigating. Fundraisers are helping cover burial costs for the family.
