Jackie Johnson, the former District Attorney for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, is facing charges of breaching her oath of office and obstructing a police officer, per NPR News.
Ahmaud Arbery was shot on February 23. “That’s so far from the truth, it’s just a straight up lie,”
Johnson said on WIFO’s Butch and Bob show.
The Georgia Attorney General’s office is anticipated to present various evidence at Johnson’s trial. This includes records of approximately 16 calls exchanged between Greg McMichael’s phone and Johnson’s in the days and weeks following Arbery’s death.
The prosecution of Johnson’s case will be handled by the Georgia Attorney General’s office, with jury selection scheduled to begin on Monday.
