Authorities are on the lookout for two men who posed as Amazon delivery drivers and brutally attacked a Savannah resident, nearly resulting in his death, as reported by WSBTV. The police report indicates that the pair, dressed as Amazon employees, approached a house on Saturday morning carrying a package.

When they knocked on the door, 66-year-old #GeorgeDickHardison answered. That is when the men forcibly entered the home. The report states they demanded cash before assaulting Hardison with a sledgehammer. The attackers fled with only $80. Surveillance footage captured them leaving the residence with the same package they had brought. In the video, Hardison can be heard calling for help.

Hardison was hospitalized and needed 14 stitches in his head due to the attack. Law enforcement officials stated that once the suspects are identified and apprehended, they will face charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and home invasion. While he recovers, Hardison’s colleagues at O’Connell’s Pub in Savannah have initiated a GoFundMe campaign that has already raised almost $8,500. In a statement to WTOC, Amazon confirmed that the men were not on a scheduled delivery.
