Family Demands Answers After Black Man In Milwaukee Is Pinned Down By Security Guards and Dies

A Milwaukee family is outraged, and demands security guards be criminally charged after pinning down a Black man who died.

Dvontaye Mitchell, 43, was having a “mental health episode” and cellphone video shows a group of men forcefully holding him down with force outside of a Hyatt Regency in downtown Milwaukee, CBS News reports.

In a manner likened to the kneeling death of George Floyd, security guards yell for Mitchell to “stay down” and “stop fighting,” as seen on video recorded June 30.

“I heard the sounds of him being hit, and as I approached, this young lady started filming, and I watched as the security officer struck him with a flashlight or some object, and we stopped him from striking him, but they never got off of him,” said Shawn Moore, a bystander who witnessed the ordeal.

One guard reportedly yelled, “This is what happens when you go into the ladies’ room.”

Mitchell’s wife DeAsia Harmon called out the security guards saying, “They took his life… They murdered my husband.”

Attorney Ben Crump, who representing the family, is calling for action.

“When you look at what happens on this video, it screams out for there to be accountability, for there to be charges brought against the killers of Dvontaye Mitchell,” Crump told reporters.

The authorities are still investigating.
