The songwriter’s statement was a response to a critic’s question about whether she wanted to be with her fellow rapper. Banks’ response was unexpected and quickly stirred reactions online.
Azealia Banks Reveals Her and Drake Were Once Intimate
Azealia Banks’ revelation about her and Drake took many by surprise. The Nov. 28, 2024, declaration on X, formerly Twitter, was in response to an X user asking if Banks wanted to “suck Drake dick that bad?” “AND DID!!!!” the songwriter replied. The Harlem native’s response quickly caused a stir online as fans asked fore more details of the event between her and Drake. However, in true Banks fashion, the singer has kept mum. Meanwhile, some were skeptical about Banks’ claims and asked for proof.
Azealia Banks Defends Drake Amid Kendrick Lamar Feud
Azealia Banks’ revelation followed her commentary on the legal battle between Drake, Universal Music Group (UMG), Spotify, and Kendrick Lamar. The music star sided with Drake and predicted the outcome of his legal filings.
“Oh drake DEFINITELY has the gun. He’s about to crook umg and spotify on some minor legal formalities and actually be the first rapper in history to stage a heist of such epic proportions,” she wrote on X. “It’s really such a lethal chess move when you really examine it,” she continued.
“He’s going to subpoena literally every platforms records, they will not be able to cook the books- and *discover* (expose) all the shady backend parts of music streaming no one really understands…Then they will all have to prove that drake is a pedophile which would make UMG and spotify look retarded if they even did, kendrick is not going to be able to perform they not like us, and jayz is going to have officially been bodied by a singing n-gga.”
Drake’s Battle With Kendrick Lamar and UMG
Drake recently accused UMG and Spotify of using streaming bots and Payola to inflate the streaming and radio numbers of Lamar’s diss song Not Like Us amid their ongoing feud. He alleged that the two organizations collaborated to recommend the diss song to many. He also accused UMG of doing the same with other streaming platforms, including recommending Not Like Us to those who requested other songs.
Meanwhile, Azealia Banks frequently supported Drake against Lamar in their feud and declared the latter the winner. She notably knocked Lamar for his height, writing online,
“Kendrick is still 4’9″ and wears the same jean size as me.”
However, she has also knocked Drake online. She attacked the Canadian-born rapper after his altercation with Joe Budden, mocking him for his nose job and liposuction.
Drake is yet to respond to claims of his and Azealia Banks’ purported relationships. The 212 rapper has also not said anything about it since she first dropped the bombshell. However, her commentary about the ongoing legal battle between Drake, UMG, Spotify, and Lamar is worth following.
