Eliasard Moneus, 28, of Indiana has been arrested and charged with domestic violence and attempted murder.
Moneus brutally beat his wife with a tire iron, Fox affiliate WXIN reports. Hospital officials reported to authorities a woman who was beat with a tire iron or wrench in her head and suffered a fractured skull. And her 3-month-old baby Jacob was missing.
The authorities put out an alert for baby Jacob who was likely in danger after Moneus reportedly ran away with him.
At their home on Saturday, police saw blood-splattered walls that confirmed that there was assault that took place. On Sunday, Moneus was located by authorities in Indianapolis. When cops searched the home a second time, they found baby Jacob dead in a sealed orange bucket.
The cause of death was reported as “asphyxia with homicide,” according to the Tippecanoe County Coroner. Moneus has yet to be charged with Jacob’s murder.
